About the Chairman

Prof. Samit Ray, Chairman of Rice Group and Chancellor of Adamas University, has been the life and soul behind RICE Education, since it was established in 1985. Prof. Ray started his career as a software professional in the ’80s and quickly realised that not many candidates from West Bengal were able to qualify for the state and national competitive examinations. RICE Education started with a single classroom and a bunch of students in the northern fringes of Kolkata. Reaping the benefits of the courses at RICE, countless candidates from the state have managed to secure government jobs. Today, the name RICE Group is synonymous with success in Bengal, and the man who has always held the reins to steer us into the stars is Prof. Samit Ray.

Message from Chairman’s Desk

Here, at RICE Education, students are groomed with meticulous care and subjected to rigorous academic scrutiny, only to secure them a bright future and to help them manifest their dreams. It is here that merit meets excellence, and prudence leads to perfection.

At RICE, we teach you to overcome challenges posed by competitive examinations for the State Civil Services, PSC, UPSC, School Service Commission, Banking, Rail, Staff Selection Commission, IAS, IPS so on and so forth. The number of candidates overcoming the hurdles of these competitive exams, and emerging with flying colours, is on the rise. The recipe for success is a methodology unique to RICE, comprising a process called Capacity Buildup. Interactive classes, recurrent testing, special exams, Mission 100… these are some of the tools that will expand your horizon. You will read more about this in the next few pages.

As we all know, Rome was not built in a day. Neither was RICE. And yet, in a short span of time, we have achieved astonishing success. RICE has trained almost 1,50,000 successful students who have gone on to work in various central and state Government positions.

This has only been possible due to the meticulous work put in by everyone involved at RICE, from students and parents to our teachers and staff, and we have been encouraged to establish branches in every nook and corner of West Bengal.

I welcome you to RICE. It is here that you will be able to pursue excellence and emerge victorious in this cut-throat world. With you by our side, we look forward to adding more feathers to our well-adorned hat.
