The full form of LIC AAO is Life Insurance Corporation Assistant Administrative Officer. It is a national level examination for the recruitment of officers to various posts. It is conducted once a year to recruit aspiring candidates to various posts. The examination is conducted in two languages English and Hindi. The recruitment process has three stages. The first stage is Prelims which will have objective type multiple-choice based questions. The second stage is Mains which will have Descriptive type questions. Third and final stage is the personal interview.

Latest Updates and Notification

LIC AAO 2021 notification will be released tentatively on Feb 25, 2021 and the online registration began on the same day. The last date to apply online and pay the registration fee will be Mar 15, 2021. The preliminary exam which is scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2021 whereas the mains exam will be conducted on Jun 25, 2021. However, these dates are tentative and the schedule will be changed once the official notification is out.

LIC AAO 2021 Eligibility Criteria


Education Qualification:

  • The applicant must be having a degree of graduation from reputed college or university approved by Govt. of India
  • It is important that the candidate should have cleared all the subjects in 1st attempt in the graduation courses. They should not have any backlog during UG / PG course.
  • There is no minimum marks that has to be scored by candidate for applying LIC AAO 2021.
  • The candidates should have good knowledge of computers


Age Limit:

The applicant’s minimum age should be 21 years & the maximum age should be 30 years at time of application form filling process. There is clause of age relaxation as per the norms of Govt. of India which is as under.

  • For SC / ST candidates 5 years of age relaxation has been provided by Govt. of India.
  • 3 years of Age relaxation has been provided to physically challenged candidates that come in SC or ST category.

In order to appear for the next round, i.e. Interview, candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks of the Main Exam as well as the qualifying aggregate marks. According to the official notification, candidates three times the number of vacancies will be called for Interview. So, here also it is important that you score as high as possible in the Main exam.

LIC AAO Exam Stages/Process

The LIC AAO exam is conducted in three stages. Following are the stages in the LIC AAO exam:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Exam
  • Interview

In addition to the above, the Pre-Recruitment Medical examination is also a part of the selection process.

Candidates must have started preparing for the examinations as every year Life Insurance Corporation receives lakhs of applications. It is not easy to clear the LIC AAO Exam. The selection process will be based on two examinations; prelims and mains.
