SSC CPO

SSC CPO stands for Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization. The Staff Selection Commission conducts a national level test called CPO Examination for recruitment candidates into the Central Police Organization.
SSC CPO is being conducted to recruit candidates to the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector in CAPFs (CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB), Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF, Inspector posts and Sub Inspector posts.

Latest Updates and Notification

Due to the surge in Covid-19 cases across the country, the Staff Selection Commission has decided to defer the Paper-II of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs and ASI in CISF Examination 2019 scheduled on 8-5-2021. Fresh date for the said examination will be intimate in due course. Candidates are advised to visit the website of the Commission regularly for the updates.

 

The Staff Selection Commission is expected to announce the SSC CPO recruitment 2021 notice soon. Last year, the notification was released on June 17th, 2020 on its official website. The total number of vacancies were 1564 for the post of Sub-Inspector in Central Armed Police Forces and Delhi Police.

Education Qualification

A candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

 

For the placement as Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) – Male candidates should hold a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date set for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be permitted to undertake Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

 

However, the candidates who do not have a Valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle & Car) are eligible for all other posts in CAPFs.

Salary

Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs: The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35,400-1,12,400/-) and is classified as Group “B” (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial.

Sub-Inspector (Executive) – (Male/ Female) in Delhi Police: The post carries pay scale of Leve-6 (Rs.35,400-1,12,400/-) and is classified as Group “C” (Non-Gazetted) by Delhi Police.

Scheme of Examination

General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates‟ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. Medical standard (For all posts)

Medical Examination All the candidates who qualify in Paper-II will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade-I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary. Candidates, who are found to be unfit, will be informed of the position and they can make an appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time limit of 15 days. Decision of Re-Medical Board/ Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal/ representation against the decision of the ReMedical Board/ Review Medical Board will be entertained.

Eye sight: The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye). The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) of both eyes without any correction like wearing glasses or surgery of any kind to improve visual acuity. In right handed person, the right eye is better eye and vice versa.

The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. 11.10.4. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

 Physical Endurance Test (PET)

For Male Candidates

  • 100 meters race in 16 seconds
  • 6 K.M race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump: 3.65 meters in 5 chances
  • High Jump: 1.2 meters in 3 chances
  • Short put 16 LBS: 4.5 meters in 3 chances

 For Female Candidates

  • 100-meter race in 18 second
  • 800-meter race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 meters or 9 feet in 3 chances
  • High Jump: 0.9 meters or 3 feet in 3 chances
