No. WBPRB/NOTICE – 2021/39 (CONS. – 20) The answers to 100 (hundred) Questions for the Preliminary Written Test held on 26.09.2021 for recruitment to the post of Constables & Lady Constables in West Bengal Police – 2020 have been uploaded on the website of West Bengal Police (www.wbpolice.gov.in) for 07 (seven) days w.e.f. 02.12.2021. All candidates are advised to compare the answer with the question paper carefully and bring apparent incongruities, if any, to the notice of the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board through e-mail at wbprb10@gmail.com within 07 (seven) days from 02.12.2021.

The Board will however not be in a position to consider any incongruity brought to its notice after the aforesaid date.

Constable and Lady Constable in West Bengal Police 2020 – Notice for Final Written Examination:

No. WBPRB/NOTICE – 2022/24 (Constable_20)

The date of Final Written Examination for recruitment to the post of Constables/Lady Constables in West Bengal Police – 2020 has been scheduled on 22.05.2022 (Sunday) from 12:00 Noon to 1 PM. The e-Admit Cards will be available on the website of West Bengal Police (www.wbpolice.gov.in) and West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (https://prb.wb.gov.in) from 10.05.2022 on keying of Application Sl. No. & Date of Birth. All efforts will be made to deliver SMS alert to the registered Mobile Number of the candidates. However, the Board will not be responsible for non-delivery of such SMS. The candidates shall have to produce the printout of their e-Admit Cards at the allotted venues for appearing in the said examination with a proper proof of identity.

The candidates applied online will not get any paper admit card which shall be issued only in respect of offline candidates. The candidates are strongly advised against wearing sports shoes, sneakers, high heeled footwear or any other kind of shoes for they will be refused entry into the venue of the examination. They shall wear flat footwear such as plain leather or polyurethane footwear or slippers without any metal embellishments or accessories. The candidates are also advised to follow the instructions given on their Admit Card and visit these websites on a regular basis.

Constable and Lady Constable in West Bengal Police 2020 – Result of Final Written Examination

The result of Final Written Examination for recruitment to the post of Constables/Lady Constables in West Bengal Police-2020 has been announced and uploaded on the websites of West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (https://prb.wb.gov.in) and West Bengal Police (www.wbpolice.gov.in). Candidates are requested to search their result by keying-in (or inputting) their Application Sl. No. and Date of Birth.

The Interview will commence on and from 17.08.2022 and the Call Letters for the same will be available on the above-mentioned websites on and from 08.08.2022. Age Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the post of constable has been defined in terms of age limit, nationality, language educational criteria, and physical standards. Candidates will get the details of eligibility criteria after the release of official notification. For now, understand the eligibility criteria for last year.

A. Nationality

  • The interested candidate must be a citizen of India. Other nationals cannot apply.

B. Age Limit

  • Should not be less than 18 years of age and more than 27 years of age
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years and for OBC 3 years

WBCS Exam Stages/Process

The selection process of West Bengal Police constable are conducted in various stages. Below are stages of the selection process in detail.

Stage 1: Preliminary Written Test

This is a qualifying examination and its marks are not considered in the final merit list. Preliminary test is of 100 marks which includes 3 subjects i.e. General awareness and General knowledge, Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics.

Stage 2: PMT (Physical Measurement Test)

Candidates who qualify the first stage are eligible to appear for PMT. Under this the height and weight of the candidates will be measured using Electronic Machines. Below is the table to qualify PMT.

Stage 3: PET (Physical Efficiency Test)

Candidates who qualify the PMT can take part in PET. This test consists of a 1600 meter run within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Stage 4: Final Written Exam

Final written test is of 85 marks which includes 4 subjects i.e. General awareness and General knowledge, Reasoning, English and Elementary Mathematics. This exam marks will be taken into consideration to prepare a merit list.

Stage 5: Interview 

The interview will be of 15 marks and those candidates who have qualified the Final written test only those candidates will be called for this interview round. Suitability of candidates for public and general awareness will be asked. The West Bengal Police recruitment board will prepare a merit list of candidates based on the marks scored in interview and final exam.

Stage 6: Verification

Selected candidates have to fill the verification of character antecedents which will be further enquired by the authority.

  • All the selected candidates will be send to designated state government hospital for medical examination
  • Candidate should be in good physical and mental health
  • Candidates have to undergo few medical test prescribed by Department of Health and family welfare
  • A medical fitness certificate will be issued by medical officer of the authority
