Candidates who will be selected for appointment will be required to appear before a Medical Board for certificates of their fitness for Government service in the form prescribed for the purpose.
The candidates who clear the first stage i.e Preliminary examination are only eligible for Mains. For an interview round it is imperative to get selected in both the stages of the written exam. Once a candidate qualifies all rounds of the selection process the board will release the final merit list of selected candidates.
The preliminary examination is mainly objective in nature consisting of 200 questions of multiple choice and 200 marks.
The standard of the paper will be the level of knowledge as expected of a graduate in Law of a recognized University.
The preliminary examination will include questions covering the following fields of knowledge.
The Final Examination (Mains) will consist of eight compulsory papers and three papers on optional subjects to be chosen by the candidates from the list of optional subjects. Each compulsory and optional paper will carry 100 marks and will be of three hours duration.
The standard of examination in the Law papers (Compulsory and Optional) will be that of the LLB Degree of the Calcutta University. All answers must be written either in English or in Bengali (unless otherwise directed in the question papers) except in the language papers.
The West Bengal Judicial Service Exam Cut off marks will depend upon some factors like previous year analysis, the difficulty of the question paper, the number of candidates that have attended and appeared for the exam, based on the caste, category.
