Is anthropology a scoring paper for civil service aspirants

Are you a civil service exam aspirant?
It’s very much essential for you to choose good optional paper for your civil service exams like IAS or WBCS. The number of candidates who take up “anthropology” as their optional is not as high as subjects like public administration or geography; anthropology enjoys a relatively high success rate. Anthropology seems to be a good fit due to several reasons. If we clearly look after the main reasons to choose anthropology as an option, we can measure out those following points:
• In anthropology, the questions asked are generally direct.
• It is considered scoring when compared to core humanities subjects. It is scientific in nature, so the answers can be made more appealing by diagrams and flowcharts. These save time while writing answers and also fetch marks.
• Its syllabus is relatively short. It can be completed in 4 months time if the right strategy and study material are followed.
• It is a good option for candidates with a science or engineering background and don’t wish to take their graduation subjects as their optional paper.
• It is an interesting subject and easy to understand.
• The performance of this optional has been consistent unlike some other popular subjects.
You should never choose an optional subject just because most of the candidates are opting for that subject. Don’t pick the subject solely based on the decision of the past years’ toppers. Choose the optional subject as per your interest. And in that case, “Anthropology” will be one of the best options to give you more score and secure your highly success rate in Civil Service.
