The format of Civil Services examination is divided into the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination and the Personal Interview. But RICE does not coach its students based on the exam format. There are no separate courses for Prelims and Mains – it is a total package. Classes for optional subjects are made available according to the availability of number of students.

Exclusively through classroom coaching. There is no distance learning module. Emphasis is being given on development of the ecosystem, with faculties being brought in from New Delhi. Senior bureaucrats are also brought in as guest faculties. The R & D Cell operates from the New Delhi office. About 15 to 20 selected students are sent to Delhi every year for special classes. Interactive sessions based on current events, regular mock-tests and practice sessions as well as planned revision with test series is the norm.

Govt. of West Bengal recruits its higher level Police officers through WBCS (Group-B) & two different examinations are conducted for the recruitment of SI/Sergeants in WBP and Kolkata Police respectively. Govt. of India recruits the higher level officers through IPS examination and the SI in Central Armed Police Forces are recruited by the Staff Selection Commission. Female candidates can also take this opportunity to be a Lady Police officer.
